Your story
Nottingham Dance Warriors are an amazing group of children, young people and adults. The group is part of NDSSG’s work in the Nottingham community, and runs every week.
Dance Warriors has around 60 members, ranging from 5 to 50 years and all have learning disabilities. And they are united in a love of dance.
On Saturday 23 March, they will be performing in a show. We have hired a theatre and the dancers are so excited about getting to perform on stage in front of family, friends and the wider community. This will be their serving time of performing here.
However, this year, they will be joined by our newly formed group - Mansfield Dance Warriors. Despite only very recently formed, it now has over 30 members who love to dance. This will be their first ever time on stage!
However, we would love to make all the dancers feel extra special and to really look the part! Our dancers (and support workers) all have a T-shirt to wear with the Dance Warriors logo on, but we would love to have some special props and accessories to enhance it.
We don’t want anything fancy, just some cheap additional bits and bobs to enhance their dances - like caps, rock n roll skirts, fancy dress jackets, sunglasses, etc
These will be used time and time again, as the dancers will, I’m sure, be doing many more performances after this.
We want to raise £350 towards this, which works out at just under £4 per dancer/support worker.
