My story

I'm excited, although somewhat nervous, to share that I'll be running my very first marathon this April in London. This monumental challenge is not just about me, it's about making a difference through every mile, which is why I'm running on behalf of the Lord’s Taverners charity, an organisation close to the heart of many.

My choice to run for Lord’s Taverners comes from a shared belief in the transformative power of sport. They are so much more than a charity; they’re a catalyst for change, using cricket to empower young individuals facing disabilities or disadvantages. Their work is truly incredible, helping to develop life skills, confidence, and to overcome barriers of potential for many, many young individuals.

A few years ago, the idea of running a marathon would have seemed impossible. My journey into running started small, with 5AM jogs before the day really began. Although I've never approached anywhere near marathon distance before, the discipline I've found in these early hours have led me to today, and I'm now ready to tackle the challenge head-on.

As I throw on my running shoes and set my sights on the finish line, I'll be thinking of every young person whose life could be transformed through the incredible work of the Lord’s Taverners. Each mile is a further step towards a more inclusive and impartial world where every young person, regardless of background or ability, has the chance to succeed.

And this is where you come in. Your support, whether through encouragement or donation, means the world to me and to all of those young people benefiting from the LT programmes. All donations, no matter the value, are greatly appreciated and contribute towards all of the amazing work of the charity.  Thank you.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto The Lord's Taverners.
