Dan's going back to Africa

Just over 11 years on from my very first CWB trip to Uganda, I'm preparing to embark on my fourth trip-but this one will be very different. I'm going to be leading the team heading out to Rwanda in February 2025!

Anyone who has met me in the past few years knows how passionate I am about the work CWB does and I maintain that the decision to sign up back in 2013 was the single best decision I have ever made for myself. Both the intended and unintended impact of their work is truly phenomenal and I'm incredibly excited to be preparing to lead my own team. The charity turns 20 in 2025, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the charity goes next.

CWB works with partners around the world to grow the game of cricket, while using the sport as a platform for health education and social change. When it was first established, the focus was completely on HIV and AIDS prevention but has subsequently branched off to cover a wide array of issues that impact the lives of the children we work with. It is run almost entirely by the dedication and enthusiasm of its volunteers.

To fund this trip, I need to raise £750 for the charity. I plan to repeat my previous challenge and travel the length of Rwanda, a distance of just under 250km. I'll make sure to update this once I have more detail about the trip and my fundraising plans. Please help me to reach the target and make this trip a reality.
