My story

I am doing my little bit in the fight against MND, a horribly cruel condition. Half the money raised will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association and half will go to Leeds Hospital charity - specifically towards building the Rob Burrow centre for MND.

Having raised money for MND over the last few years, this one feels extra special with being named after Rob Burrow. A man who in his darkest times has opened himself and his family up to the world when he could of easily hidden away. His influence on giving this awful disease exposure is absolutely immeasurable. Warrior of a man with an incredible family.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Motor Neurone Disease Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity.

My updates

💙🧡Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon🧡💙 It is with great sadness that I have had to withdraw from tomorrows marathon. The ‘pull in my bum cheek’ I suffered on my last run was worse than first thought, it is actually Piriformis Syndrome. Basically, the muscle is inflamed and is pushing against my sciatic nerve. Ive been non stop with trying to sort the injury since Tuesday. I have tried absolutely everything possible. I’ve heated it, iced it, taken countless pain killers/ anti inflammatories, stretched it and prayed it would be okay but I tried a very short run this morning and it’s genuinely debilitating. I’ve pictured running over the finish line in a full Headingley Stadium 100 times in my head and believe me when I say no one is more gutted than me that it won’t be happening tomorrow but I will right the wrongs and I’ve already signed up for next years event. For anyone who has donated, I’m truly sorry, I will carry on training and I will complete the challenge as soon as I physically can. For everything to come crashing down on race week is hard to take but my time will come. Thank you all for your support. Good luck to all of you who are racing tomorrow.
