Great Bustard Chick Rearing Appeal

The Great Bustard Group works with itsRussian partners to resuce Great Bustard eggs from nests which are uncovered during agricultural operations. The eggs are incubated and the chicks reared in Russia. Some of the chicks are released into the wild in Russia and the others come to the UK for the reintroduction project.
The cost of rearing a single chick and the associated veterinary checks prior to export to the UK is close to £1000 per chick.
