Running my first marathon to benefit Extratime

Event date: 10th April 2011

Deanna Keogh is raising money for extratime

My story

Extratime is local (UK) charity that creates afterschool programs for special needs children. Please visit their website for more information about their program. extratimebrighton.org.uk

Back in July my friend Katie and I started a running program called the non-runners guide to marathon training. At the time my goal was only to be able run 3 miles. So once I met that challenge, I quickly moved on to wanting to run a 10K (approximately 6 miles.) In October we ran a 10K to benefit lymphoma and leukemia. Of course came the urge to want to run a half marathon. So in November we traveled to beautiful Wales and ran 13.1 miles.

And now here is where I find myself excited and ready to run the Brighton full Marathon. I am very enthused about running my first marathon, and it's wonderful that it is to benefit such an amazing cause.
