Kerry's Skydive

I will be jumping out of a plane for The Elisa Educational Trust. Most will agree that while I have all the chat, secretly I am a massive wimp. The skydive is on the 28th May so I have plenty of time to terrify myself, to boost my confidence feel free to sponsor me. My only comfort is in the fact I will be attached to a lovely instructor man :)

Why am I doing this? Many of you may be aware that I spent 8 months out in Chile last year working with some truely amazing people...read below to find out what The Elisa Educational Trust does and why I feel the need to throw myself out of a plane to help them continue their hard work:

Elisa educational trust was set up in June 2004 to help raise people skills for children in developing countries across the world. We aim to improve the children?s awareness and provide skills for their future through education. The purpose of the charity is to provide grants for education to allow individuals who otherwise would be unable to study to improve their employment opportunities. We have also helped the international Red Cross and other aid organisations deliver relief and support in a number of needy areas in emergency situations. Through education, we aim to raise the horizons of individuals. Giving them hope and independence for their future. At the moment our main project is LIA (London International Academy) this is a nursery based in La Calera, Chile. It is a non-profit nursery that provides free education for many disadvantaged young children. We also provide help and support for boys at the local orphanage. This charity is linked with Gap Chile which recruits volunteers to work within the LIA nursery and to help teach children English. These volunteers help to lift ?community spirit? by helping in projects in the local area.
