Eastbourne Islamic Cultural Centre (EICC) - Mosque Building

Eastbourne mosque is a charity (1152022) and came into existence 25 years ago. Since then the community has increased significantly and we need a larger premises with improved facilities.

Sadly, it was firebombed twice. Alhumdulillah no one was hurt and the worship continued.

The new mosque building will meet the needs of the local community for many years to come.

In the old building over 100 brothers were having to pray outside and this was causing a fire hazard. The building leaked and many cracks had appeared. Bathroom facilities are very poor and there is only one sink to perform wudu.
The wiring was dangerous and plumbing was leaking.
There was no privacy for sisters and no facility for disabled worshippers.

So far we have raised £475,000 and now need another £200,000 for the project. Our deadline is September 2017.
We need to raise another £200,000 before 31th September 2017

There is great reward in building a mosque for Allah's sake.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise."(Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim)
Donating funds for a mosque is a form of Sadaqah Jariah which means it is an ongoing charity. The benefits and rewards will be reaped by those who attend the masjid as well as those who donated, even after those donors have passed away. We ask our local community to rally round and donate anything you can, even if it a few pounds.
