The Cause

The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland dedicated to improving care, research, and awareness for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
What is MND?

• MND is a fatal, rapidly progressing neurological disease.
• It affects the brain and spinal cord, causing muscles to weaken and waste away.
• It can lead to difficulties with movement, speech, swallowing, and breathing.

There is no cure, and average life expectancy after diagnosis is 2–5 years.
