Chris’ London Marathon Challenge 2022

Event date: 2nd October 2022

Chris Longmuir is raising money for East Midlands Dog Rescue

My story

I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 2nd October to help raise money for East Midlands Dog Rescue.

Whilst I have run in the past I have been injured for over two years and only just starting running again so this will be a huge challenge for me but one I intend to complete to raise as much money for the rescue as I can.

East Midlands Dog Rescue is a small group of volunteers who place abandoned and unwanted dogs in new homes and are here for their lifetime.

They ensure the dogs get the best care. They are funded solely on donations from the public and do a magnificent job caring for and rehoming hundreds of dogs each year.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto East Midlands Dog Rescue.

My updates

Thank you so much to everyone that has donated so far, nearly half way to my target.

After only a few runs so far for training I did The Big Half in London yesterday and set a target of two hours, which is about 15 minutes slower than my PB. I managed to get round in just over two hours but definitely found it harder than I ever had before.

Now four weeks to go to the main event and serious training starts in a couple of days when fully recovered from yesterday.
