Walking (or running!) for Restore in memory of Emma Sandor

So May 14th dawned grey and wet but by the time the 14-strong team set out at 9am it was a glorious, sunny, blue-sky May day.

It was a really special walk, made all the more so by the revelation from Emma's cousin that it had been a family favourite. A really poignant way to remember Emma and a great way of raising money and generating publicity for Restore.

Our huge thanks to all of you who have supported us already - please do carry on doing so - and think about planning your own events!!

In 2016 we lost our dear friend Emma Sandor to breast cancer.

In June 2014, with a group of other Rose Hill mums, Emma had undertaken the 10 mile Pink Ribbon Walk at Leeds Castle. We called our team Emma's Roses.

So this May a group of us, along with other friends and members of Emma's family, will undertake another walk, this time in Shipbourne, in memory of Emma and to raise funds for Restore - a charity that was very close to her heart, and which she was instrumental in helping to set up.

Restore is a Tunbridge Wells-based youth counselling charity. It offers affordable play therapy and counselling to children and teenagers, irrespective of their means, and is providing invaluable services in a hugely under-resourced field. It is currently working to set up a bursary fund to cover the shortfall between the minimum payment and full cost for 12 sessions - a sum of £360 per client.

Our aim would therefore be to raise at least £360 by walking or running 5 or 10 miles on Sunday 14 May. We would be very grateful indeed if you felt able to support us and this excellent cause by using this page to make a donation.
