My story
“End to End for Papyrus & Prostate Cancer UK
A “Cycologist” once said “Life is like riding a bicycle – to stay balanced, you must keep moving!” With this good advice in mind, I am planning to realise a long held ambition to cycle from Land’s End to John O Groats (Le Jog) in September, and in doing so raise money for Papyrus (Prevention of Young Suicide) and Prostate Cancer UK. The route will cover 990 miles and 46,000ft of climbing and will take 14 days. (Now I type this, I’m feeling quite daunted! ) The ride starts on the 6th September and it is appropriate that I will be riding on World Suicide Prevention Day 10th September.
I also wish to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK who have been an invaluable support to family, friends and colleagues, plus I can ride a bike but struggle to grow a “Movember” tache!
During training I have taken a few tumbles, pulled some leg muscles, and felt exhausted, and that was just trying to get my lycra cycling shorts on!
Please will you support my fundraising efforts by sponsoring my big bike ride from the most southerly point to the most northerly point of the UK? It would be great to raise a£1:50 per mile and reach a target of £1500. I will post updates as the adventure unfolds. Many thanks in anticipation of your generosity for these two good causes.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Prostate Cancer UK and PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide.
