English Channel Challenge for Beauden Brave

Linda Feldman is raising money for Tiny Lives Trust and Newcastle Hospitals Charity

My story

Beauden Brave was set up in May 2021 in loving memory of Beauden Philip Turnbull, by Beauden's Mummy (Magda) and Daddy (Richard), a Strategy Lead at Health Education England. Beauden was born on the 25 February 2021, living for just 68 days.

I am helping to raise money to fund a role with the John Walton Muscular Dystrophy Research Centre that will design and deliver education to staff involved in the diagnosis and care of babies born with neuromuscular conditions, including Myotonic Dystrophy. Babies born with these rare conditions have unique and complex needs, some of which not all healthcare professionals may work with regularly. The aim of the role and education will be to support and prepare staff to care for babies with these conditions confidently and effectively.

I’ll be swimming the distance of the English Channel, in my local pool, throughout the month of March (in 2km stints, 80 lengths at a time) which will cover 21 miles (34 km), across the width of the English Channel between England and France.
