Our story
Last year, one of Equans' colleagues was left with life-changing injuries. Since then, he’s been focused on his recovery, but he would now like to channel his energy into raising money for some of the organisations that have helped him throughout the last 12 months.
To show our solidarity, we're organising a 75-mile charity bike ride, called RIDE 75, to raise money for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity (Queen Alexandra Hospital – QAH), Open Sight (Hampshire-based charity helping those with sight loss) and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance
Here's how it works:
- The bike ride will take place throughout the month of June, giving everyone the flexibility to participate at their own pace
- Participants can choose to complete the 75 miles wherever and whenever they’re most comfortable, either on the road, up a mountain, at the gym, or with their family
- Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just starting out, this ride is open to everyone. It's not about speed or distance; it's about coming together as a team to support a meaningful cause.
This ride not only supports a worthy group of charities, but also marks the conclusion of the 75th year of the NHS and serves as a celebration of inclusivity, mental health, and physical well-being.
The event will culminate on Friday 28 June when 12 riders, all with their own story of inclusivity to share, will cycle a route around the New Forest, finishing at QAH, where they will be welcomed by their colleagues and friends.
