Our story

Our story
The Charity Spring Ball, is an annual event dedicated to supporting the DEBRA charity in their mission to alleviate the pain caused by Epidermolysis Bullosa (“EB”) also known as ‘Butterfly Skin’.  EB causes the skin to become very fragile and tear or blister at the slightest touch.  With your help and support we can find treatments and cures for this rare, extremely painful, skin blistering condition.

Returning on Saturday 27th April 2024, at the prestigious St Georges Park, the home of the English FA in Burton upon Trent, this year's event promises to be a memorable occasion. With nearly 300 attendees, all eager to surpass the impressive £60k raised in 2023, the evening is set to be a resounding success.  Notably, the majority of our supporters hail from the UK Accident Repair Industry, showcasing their commitment to making a difference.

Inspired by the remarkable achievements of Graeme Souness and the Channel Swim team in 2023, our dedicated organizers — Paul Glover and Martyn Rowley, as well as Jason Hopkins, Steve Shore, and Lee Roan — have undertaken a formidable challenge.  They will embark on a 55-mile walk from James Alpe Accident Repair Centre in Clitheroe to Lake Windermere over two days, followed by completing the 1 Mile Great North Swim. Their unwavering commitment exemplifies the spirit of our cause.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all individuals, companies, and organisations who have generously supported us on this EB adventure.  Special thanks to:
