Leela's Brighton Marathon fundraising for slum children in Patna

I have been running half marathons for a few years, and have been thinking about doing a marathon for a while. It always seemed like a huge challenge, maybe I just needed a good reason. A couple of years ago I visited my aunt in Patna (Bihar, India) as she was celebrating her 60th anniversary of becoming a nun. During this visit I had the opportunity to visit a number of the charities she set up during her time in Patna. These charities enable slum children to get an education and fund remand homes for young offenders, teaching them skills which enable them to get jobs after coming out of prison. These projects are entirely funded by donations, and having seen them first hand this was just the push I needed to get off the couch and increase my mileage.
