Royal Parks Half Marathon

Event dates: 3rd September 2009 – 11th November 2009

Gary Fearn is raising money for The Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts

My story

A few moons ago, back in my semi-semi-semi-professional football days, I happened to have a bit of a tussle with the second in line to the throne. It wasn't pretty - he just 'fell' over, he shouted rude words at me and took my name so that his nan wouldn't ever make me a knight.

Thankfully, there were no secret service blokes hidden in the park and so I lived to tell the tale - nonetheless, I've been feeling guilty about it since.

So, to make up for it I'm going to do a half-marathon to raise money for his dad's charity (not the one that he makes sausages and the like with) for Children and the Arts - childrenandarts.org.uk/. It's a really worthwhile cause and the idea is to make the Arts more accessible to all kids and encourage a generation to switch off their Nintendo Playstations, Game Boys and Sony X Boxes, and go to galleries, watch shows, do music workshops or tours of a theatres etc.

The run is on 11 October and I've actually been training a bit as it happens - I hope to do it in just over the world record time (for a full marathon) and all the support you could give would be much appreciated.

I've set up this site if you would like to make a donation - remember that gift aid thingy which benefits the charity.

Hen is also doing the same run so if you would like to sponsor us both maybe divide your donation or drop me an email and we'll sort it out afterwards.

Thanks all

Love Gary

p.s. if any of you fancy running a book on Hen and me I'm not giving any tips.......although his bionic robocop knee sounds like it needs a bit of oiling.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto The Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts.
