Gesine is Walking 70 Miles for Cancer United

On 18th September, my friend Jayne and I are swapping our golf shoes for walking boots and will be setting off on a 4-day challenge to walk the entire 70-mile coastal path around the Isle of Wight.

For me, this isn't just about completing a long-distance walk, it's about supporting a cause that is very close to my heart. As a trustee of CANCER UNITED, I have the privilege of seeing first-hand the incredible difference the charity makes to people living with and beyond cancer. Therefore, I have chosen to take on this challenge to raise funds that will help CANCER UNITED continue providing the life-changing services and invaluable support for people affected by cancer in our local community.

Over 4 days, we'll be walking approximately 70 miles (equates to around 150,000 steps!), tackling steep climbs, coastal paths and whatever the British weather decides to throw at us! There will no doubt be some tired legs and aching feet along the way, but knowing that every step can help someone affected by cancer will keep me going.
