RSABI (SCOTLAND) and MY NAME’5 DODDIE FOUNDATION
7th Sept - Update: They did it!! Gerry and John rolled into John O'Groats at 4.33pm today! An amazing achievement driven on by all your generous donations. Thank you everyone, it has meant so much to us seeing the total grow as the cycling days passed. Well done boys!
5th Sept - Update: As we cycle ever northwards towards the end of Gerry and John's challenge we wanted to give a wee update. Firstly thank you to everyone who has donated so far, we are absolutely thrilled with the amount raised and I'm sure the 2 Charities will be also. The boys are doing so well on their bikes, they have kept the wheels turning through the UK's beautiful countryside, towns, villages and cities and also beaten some very brutal hills. They are setting out on the final leg tomorrow from Lairg to John O'Groats. Wish them well!
Gerry Lafferty and John Service are two friends who decided 10 years ago to raise money for the Beatson Cancer Centre in Glasgow. They decided to cycle the 100 miles from their homes in Sandhead , SW Scotland to the Beatson Centre and have been cycling ever since.
They have completed several other cycling challenges raising money for MS Society, McMillan Cancer Support and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
GJGRANDTOUR24 is their biggest challenge to date, cycling the 1000miles from Lands End to John 0’ Groats.
On the 29th of August they will leave from Lands End to start the GJGRANDTOUR24 then follow the route up through England and Scotland arriving in John ‘O’ Groats on 7th September .
They would love if you could support their Charities in any way you can and look forward to seeing supporters cheering them on out on the route.
