My story

The grant that has been supporting the School Nurse at Uphill Junior School in rural Uganda has come to an end and we haven't been able to secure a replacement. So I have pledged to raise the money to cover the salary costs for the next 12 months!

And how am I going to do this?

For the past few years I have taken part in the Scottish Classic Motorcycle Club's annual Scotia Challenge, riding to up to 45 points around Scotland and it's islands on my motorcycle. Having snapped a photo of the bike in front the required church/memorial/standing stone/water fountain/bridge/dam etc the photos are submitted to the organiser. The awards are the same each year - an engraved whisky glass - and the level of the award depends on the number of points achieved and the age of the motorcycle.

I already have bronze and silver award glasses in my cupboard, but this year I am going for GOLD... for UPHILL!

Please can you help me to fund the Uphill School Nurse?

A little of what we have here goes a long way in rural Uganda and £1,000 will cover the nurse's salary costs for a year!

My updates

CHALLENGE COMPLETE!
At last, I had the opportunity to return up north to collect the final point in my challenge. Over 6 hours in the saddle and 246 miles on the clock! I have almost met my fundraising target too - can anyone help me to get over the line to cover the Uphill school nurse's salary in 2026? THANK YOU!

Another big day today - 180 miles capturing points in Perthshire, Angus, Dundee and down on the Fife coast. Just ONE MORE to go - the point we missed up by Spean Bridge due to the road closure on our northern trip...now sitting at 44/45!

Another 120 miles today, capturing 8 more challenge points in Fife and environs on a very warm day (for Scotland!). The 45 point target is definitely in my sights now…only 8 more points to go!

Thank you to all my new donors! I am getting very close to my target now, and still have 16 more points to collect. They are mostly close to home, apart from the one near Spean Bridge that we couldn't get to because the road was closed for an accident...

Thank you for all the fabby new donations over the past few days! I am getting closer to having the Uphill School Nurse's salary covered, and there are still 16 more places to visit :)
