This page is raising money for Grapevine Essex
Our story
Grapevine Essex is a charity providing supported outings and activities for adults with learning disabilities. During lockdown, we are providing free online activities 2-3 times weekly consisting of Art & Craft, Quizzes, Bingo, Baking, Virtual Tours, Dancing & Singing lessons and Exercise routines.
The Fun Walk is an annual event organised by Basildon, Billericay & Wickford Council for Voluntary Services (BBWCVS) on behalf of the Fun Walk Trust. This year it's gone virtual!
- Participants are asked to walk either 2K (suitable for families, toddlers and the disabled) or 5K.
- Supporters can walk the equivalent distance anywhere, any time during September and involve other people in their household.
- We do ask that you walk within the latest Government guidance and stay safe at all times.
- FINISHERS’ CERTIFICATES WILL BE EMAILED ON COMPLETION OF THE CHALLENGE
Bonus Pot
Because of the generosity of businesses and other sponsors, each project receives a bonus on a pro rata basis depending on, and in addition to, what they raise themselves on the day. In 2019, for every £100 raised by projects in sponsorship from the Fun Walk, the bonus pot added a further £50.

Our updates
Vanessa and Danielle walked round Hylands Park in Chelmsford for 3.5 miles on 30 September. Many thanks to everyone for sponsoring us.
Jackie, Mark, Charlie and staffy Bud completed their Fun Walk on Sunday 13 Sept. "We walked from home in Billericay to nearby Mill Meadows (90 acre nature reserve). At the half-way point we stopped for a pint of real ale at the Billericay Brewery before heading back. We did 3.3 miles. Thanks to our sponsors!"
Mary, Ellen and Peter did a 7 mile walk on 1st Sept. Started off from home, went to Oakland’s Park, walked through town up to Geek Retreat near the old Marconis, up to Broomfield then walked along the river back into town for some liquid refreshment and finally home. Better walking weather on Monday, not so hot.
