Rachel runs the Great West Run 2026!

My son Isaac was born at 31 weeks in February 2025, we spent 9 weeks on the neonatal unit at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. SNUG were there for us in many ways, with the welcome pack, weekly visits from one of their volunteers and after we were discharged we were introduced to their weekly meet ups.

As a family, we have found SNUG so helpful, from providing someone to speak to whilst on the ward who shared with us their own neonatal experience, to the weekly meet ups that allowed us to reconnect with families who were on the ward at the same time as us.

I know first hand the important work that SNUG are providing to families, and want to raise money to help other families like us.

For me to run a 10k, its a challenge, but knowing how the money raised will help families who have also experienced the fear of the neonatal ward, it motivates me to keep training.
