Hayley Roberts is raising money for Womb Transplant UK

My story

I am doing the Plymouth half marathon on the 23rd April 2017. My daughter Hayley, found out when she was 16 that she was born without a womb. There are currently only two options which are available for her, so she can start a family of her own. These options are surrogacy and adoption but none of these involve her being able to carry a child of her own. This is why I am raising money for womb transplant. Watching my daughter go through the heart break of infertility has been hard as a father and I hope this money will go towards this amazing operation, so the future generation will have this option available to them.
Womb transplant have set up a new charity, Womb Transplant (UK) to help achieve their goal of developing a practical and safe operation and procedure which will allow women, who were either born without a womb or have lost their womb as a result of illness, to have their own child. Apart from helping to raise funds to enable them to continue their research, the charity will also work to make more people aware of this currently untreatable infertility which causes so much distress to a large number of women and their partners. The charity, through this website and its activities, will also show how their research is progressing, the benefits and the progress being made. The vast majority of the costs of research have been borne by the team members themselves but in these crucial final stages, more help is needed to continue the research.
