Our story
We are fundraising to help Cissy train to be a primary school teacher in Uganda.
CISSY'S STORY
Cissy came to our Hospital School from Uganda, supported by the charity Facing the World, to receive treatment for a facial tumour at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Cissy is now back in Uganda and is working towards achieving her dream of becoming a primary school teacher. She has enrolled in the second part of her course at Madrasa Early Childhood and Development Institute in Kampala and has two years study left to achieve her teaching certificate.
However, her family circumstances have changed, and she is now unable to pay the course fees to continue her studies - without your help!
WHAT WE ARE DOING TO HELP CISSY
Over the weekend of 24th/25th April we have organised sponsored events to raise money to pay for Cissy's teacher training fees.
RUNNERS
Our team of runners, Laura, Caroline, Martin and Josephine will each run a half marathon, 13.1 miles (21km)
CYCLISTS
Paulina will cycle 13 miles
Michelle will cycle up and down Box Hill 13 times on her ZWIFT indoor trainer
WALKERS
Janette will walk 13 miles over the weekend

Thank you everybody!! Together we raised £1470 to help support Cissy train to be a teacher in Uganda. Thank you to everyone who made this possible through their generosity. This is the most wonderful success for Cissy, we are all so very delighted for her, another story of how despite facing difficult medical problems it is still possible to achieve your life goals.
This weekend our walkers, runners and cyclists will be out covering the half marathon distance to help raise money for Cissy's college fees. thanks again for all your support!
