Help Me Raise Money for Skin Cancer

In July 2025, I was diagnosed with melanoma, a skin cancer. This had spread in to my lymph nodes and I had to have an operation to remove several lymph nodes in my neck to remove the cancer. I am not exaggerating when I say it is the most horrific experience of my life, and the ongoing anxiety and worry is hard to manage.

I’m still undergoing immunotherapy treatment to help my body fight anything that may be left. If it weren’t for charities like Skcin and Melanoma Focus, raising awareness and very importantly funding research - I really am not sure I’d be alive for much longer. Research in to this disease, and any disease, is so important to help people live a healthy life. I would be so grateful for any donation to help raise money for these causes, the information they provide and the awareness they raise is crucial. Early intervention needs to be the way forward for everyone. It’s also important to keep funding further treatments in to this disease.

It won’t be particularly easy for me to get the 100 miles in, working full time, experiencing fatigue from the treatment, and trying to avoid the sun, amongst all the other stuff life throws at you - but it’s going to spur me on to remember where I was 8 months ago, where I am now, and how lucky I am to be able to do this.
