In Memory of Cassie

In October 2022, our lives were changed forever. We met a Senior Staffy called Cassie when I was working at a rescue. I fell in love with her from the moment I met her, I couldn't understand why she hadn't been adopted as she had already been at the rescue for a year. I was told because she was old and needed medication she was unlikely to be adopted. I took her home within a few weeks ensuring we had everything we needed for her. 

What ana amazing dog she was, she taught me and partner so much. She was patient, resilient, loving and sassy! We couldn't remember the life we had before her. 

Unfortunately in September 2024 we lost her, we were with her until the very end loving her and telling her what a good girl she was. The whole time we had her we couldn't understand why she had been given up, she never gave us any trouble. 

In my grief and wanting a way to help other seniors, I started volunteering at the Senior Staffy Club who help hundreds of senior staffy's in need across the UK and give them the second chance to enjoy their golden years in a safe and loving environment. 

Cassie gave us so much and we want to give something back to other seniors. Myself and partner, Micheal, are running the Manchester Half Marathon in October in remembrance of Cassie. She inspired me everyday to keep going and she will forever be on our hearts, we love you Cassie.
