In memory of David Spawforth - Arkwright Engineering Scholarships

We remember David with deep gratitude for his many years of dedication to the Arkwright Engineering Scholarships. As a Liaison Officer from 1999 to 2015, he played a key role in supporting countless young people as they began their journeys into engineering, offering warmth, wisdom, and unwavering encouragement.
Even after stepping down from his formal role, David continued to contribute generously by volunteering on our interview panels until 2019. His dedication and commitment left a lasting mark on the Arkwright community.
David also played an important part in supporting the transition of the Scholarship to The Smallpeice Trust, offering stability and confidence through his continued involvement as an interviewer. His belief in the potential of the next generation, and his passion for nurturing emerging talent, were felt by all who had the pleasure of working with him.
David will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. As CEO of The Smallpeice Trust, I am honoured that we have been chosen as the recipient of donations made in his memory.
