Charmaine Myers is raising money for The East Lancashire Hospice and Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity
Dear Family & Friends,
As you know, I sadly lost my brother Keithy Jo-Jo in March 2026. He was just 57 years old, which was the same age as our Mum, Valerie Ann when she died. In memory of them both I’m going to run around the outside of the Sheffield Wednesday FC stadium 5 times (Keith’s team) and around the outside of the Sheffield United FC stadium (Mum’s team) 7 times. The total distance is around 10km as a fundraiser in June.
I’ll donate all monies raised between the East Lancashire Hospice, in gratitude for the phenomenal care they provided to Keith in his final weeks and to Weston Park Cancer Charity – Sheffield for looking after Mum back in the 90s.

I completed the Sheffield United FC leg of my challenge earlier today. I found it very emotional as I was thinking of my lovely Mum as I ran. You were also in my thoughts cheering me on, so thanks for that it really helped.

I decided to take advantage of the quiet streets today to do the first part of my challenge. I'm happy to share that I ran 5 x around the outside of the Sheffield Wednesday FC ground.
