India climbs Scafell Pike 2023

On 30th September, along with over 100 students, India will be climbing Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England.

Known as the big climb, this school community event is held dear to the core principles of Radnor House, providing the children with a memorable experience that will develop their confidence and give them something to be justly proud of.

All money raised will be supporting three small, but very important school charities:

• Tree of Hope supports families to access healthcare which is not available for free via the UK Health Service (NHS) of which there is now an extensive list. The charity receives referrals via children’s hospitals throughout the UK. Families can also self-refer following a diagnosis from their GP or Consultant Specialist and many are referred via their consultants.

• Porchlight is Kent’s largest charity for homeless and vulnerable people. They provide services for people facing homelessness across Kent. Some need their help to escape the streets and others require support to prevent them from losing their home. Porchlight give people the emotional and practical support to get back on their feet and get to where they want to be.

• Alice’s Arc is dedicated to finding a cure and kinder, more targeted treatments for those affected by the childhood cancer, rhabdomyosarcoma. By working with major research institutions and leading paediatric oncology hospitals, the charity aims to fund research that contributes to advancing our scientific understanding of the biology of rhabdomyosarcoma and translates this knowledge into the identification of new drugs and pioneering treatments via clinical trials. This research is crucial in order to improve long term survival outcomes and to minimise long-term side effects.
