Is running a marathon a sign of a mid-life crisis?

Yes

The Slightly Longer Answer?

Yes, but with the added bonus of Lara running the 10k!

The Longer Answer?

This will be my 3rd time teaming up with around 30 other runners from The Final Word cricket podcast running in Edinburgh raising money for the Lord's Taverners.

Last year in the run-up to my 2nd Edinburgh Half Marathon I was asked numerous times "Are you going to run a Full Marathon?" and my answer was always "You will know my mid-life crisis has started when I sign up to run one!"

And yet... in the post race glow when Sadiq encouraged us to sign up for 2026 my finger hovered over - and then clicked - the Marathon button.

So here we are... Mid-life crisis engaged.

Marathon training is HARD and TIME CONSUMING! I have felt pain from my toes to my hips, and my ability to move post-run has resembled all manner of non-human shapes.

But... it's gonna be worth it when I get to the end, right?

AND... having met Lara via the wonderful Final Word community, and in spite of her protestations that, in her words "I am not a runner", her competitive nature has led her to run the 10k in Edinburgh, and she is fast becoming "a runner"! 

No donation is too small and will be gratefully received, but in this case the bigger the better.
