Why We Walk

Walking has become something special for us.
Away from busy lives and busy minds, it gives us the opportunity to reconnect - with nature, with each other and with ourselves. It reminds us that even the biggest challenges are overcome one step at a time.

❤️ Mountbatten Isle of Wight

Almost every Island family is touched by Mountbatten at some point in their lives.
Every day they provide expert hospice and palliative care, bereavement support and specialist nursing to around 2,000 Islanders. Yet it costs around £10.5 million each year to deliver these services, with only around one-third funded by the NHS. The rest depends on the generosity of our community.
Every donation helps ensure that people facing the most difficult moments of their lives receive compassionate care, dignity and support when they need it most.

⚜️ 5th Ryde Scouts

The other half of our fundraising will support 5th Ryde Scouts, where Rex has grown in confidence through adventure, teamwork and friendship.
For generations, the group has helped young people across Ryde develop resilience, leadership and practical life skills through Scouting. Their headquarters has served the community for many years and is creating a garden to support outdoor skill development and enjoyment to ensure it remains a safe, welcoming place for future generations of local children.
