Jess Duke is raising money for The Ricky Casey Trust
Keepin it Renal 2022
This March from the 6th - 26th I’ll be taking on the challenge of running 52 miles in order to help raise money and awareness to fight rare renal cancers.
About the charity…
Rick was a black 48-year-old, fit and healthy guy. He served for more than 16 years as a fire-fighter at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. In March 2018 he started to get a dull ache in his left testicle. By August of that year Ricky was diagnosed with RMC. With little research into treatments, options were limited and unfortunately he lost his battle in May 2019. In March 2022 Ricky should have been celebrating his 52nd birthday.
The Ricky Casey Trust seeks to advance the knowledge, education and research into rare cancers in the UK, particularly but not exclusively the Renal Medullary Carcinoma (RMC) subtype. The charity aims to raise funds to improve awareness amongst the general public and healthcare professionals treating renal cancers in the UK, fund vital research and provide equipment and treatment to help relieve sickness and preserve the health of people suffering from RMC and other rare renal cancers.
