Jill Hamill Goggins Challenge
Event dates: 6th March 2021 – 8th March 2021
Jonny Hamill is raising money for Care For Cambodia
My story
As has become normal for Jill Hamill (but not for any regular person!) she is undertaking a new extreme running challenge. Next weekend 7th March Jill will start the Dave Goggins challenge (gogginschallenge.com/). She will run 4 miles every 4 hours for a period of 48 hours. Over the two days she will cover a distance equivalent to two marathons! Along with running during this period she will need to plan sleep, rest and nutrition.
Jill has kindly agreed to undertake this event as a sponsored event for Care for Cambodia.
Funds raised will be allocated to our rural education project where our teachers are working so hard to keep kids in school during the massively disrupted COVID-19 times. Home/online learning is not available to these children and school dropout to look for a job to ease family financial concerns is a big temptation for them.
$500 raised will pay one Care for Cambodia teachers stipend for 1 year
$1000, two teachers...or let’s dream big... $10,000, 20 teachers for one whole year!
One teacher daily impacts the lives of between 30 and 40 kids, helping keep them in school. A better education will give them the opportunity to achieve bigger and better things than otherwise would be open to them.
So, on the 7th March think of Jill as she sleeps in 3 hour bursts before getting up to run again and if you have a few spare Pounds/Dollars/Riel/Baht then throw it her way as an act of encouragement to push her on her way.
Go Jill!
