Our story
5 years ago, Joanne was sadly diagnosed with breast cancer, thankfully she recovered and it was during this time that she met the lovely girls from the Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer charity.
The charity was founded locally to support women going through a terrible time and offers support, practical help, guidance and friendship. One of their initiatives was a ‘Hug in a bag’ which helps people during treatment with blankets, books, creams etc…
Joanne became an active fundraiser and even arranged a fabulous coffee morning at home raising in excess of £1200, not satisfied with that she even joined the choir (who knew she could sing!) and made star appearances at many local events – including the Christmas lights at Warwick Castle.
Sadly she was then diagnosed with Ovarian cancer and endured many months of gruelling treatment, the ladies continued to support and love Jo … and she continued to sing!
It was her wish that any monies raised in her memory would be donated to the wonderful ladies that have been with her through thick and thin.
