My story
In April 2026, I’ll be lacing up my trainers and taking on the London Marathon — not just for the challenge, but for a cause that truly matters: transforming the lives of young people through the power of cricket.
Lord's Taverners is an incredible charity which empowers children with disabilities and those living in disadvantaged communities to build confidence, develop skills, and feel a sense of belonging through inclusive cricket programmes.
As someone working in cricket, I see first-hand how this sport can change lives. It teaches resilience, teamwork, self-belief and so much more as well.
And I see the Tavs' brilliant work up close. For many of the young people they help, opportunities to play, connect, and grow are limited - but thanks to the Tavs' work, they get the chance to thrive.
That’s why I’m running: to help more children get more out of life through cricket.
This is the first marathon I'll have run. I've watched many times as a spectator, and loved the atmosphere. I've always wanted to give it a go and seeing my daughter take on the kids mini marathon last year gave me renewed inspiration.
I'm braced for the ups and downs of training for 26.2 miles. I know there will be early mornings, aching legs, and plenty of moments of doubt! But knowing that it will all allow more children to experience the true power of cricket will keep me going. And with your support, we can make that happen.
Your donation — big or small — will help fund programmes that reach thousands of young people across the UK. It’s not just about sport. It’s about inclusion, hope, and changing lives for the better. So please, if you can, donate today.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto The Lord's Taverners.
