Jonathan's Swim for DEBRA

This September I will be taking on a new challenge in aid of DEBRA and swimming a mile in the Serpentine, supporting their work to improve the lives of people living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB is a debilitating genetic disease in which the skin becomes so fragile it tears and blisters at the slightest touch, EB affects people to different degrees causing lifelong disability and pain and in its worse form can be fatal. There is currently no cure for EB, treatments are aimed at try to alleviate the symptoms and improve the quality of life for those affected. (debra.org.uk/what-is-epidermolysis-bullosa-eb)
I learnt about EB having attended a DEBRA fundraising event and hearing first hand from those affected and their families and the enormous impact it has on all their lives made me want to do something to help.
