I'm Running (Again!) — Please Support Two Incredible Causes

On Sunday 12th October 2025, I’ll once again be lacing up my running shoes for the Great Eastern Half Marathon, pounding the streets of Peterborough in support of two organisations that mean a great deal to me.

Running has become an unexpected but vital part of my life. I took it up almost by accident during lockdown, and it’s since become essential to my health, well-being, and happiness. Now firmly in the "veterans" category, this will be my third half marathon — and I’m more motivated than ever.

This year, I’m not just running for personal achievement — I’m running to raise awareness and funds for two fantastic, self-funded charities doing important work in our community:

💜 Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group

This is the chosen charity of my business network, BNI Synergy. Week after week, I hear moving testimonials about the group’s non-judgemental, life-changing support for anyone affected by sexual violence or abuse. The scale of their impact — and the need — is far greater than many realise.

🎺 Stamford Brass

A vibrant brass banding community that’s been active in Stamford for over 135 years, providing not only music-making opportunities for its 30+ members but also joy, culture, and support to a wide range of community events, local charities, and projects. Their music lifts spirits and brings people together.

Both of these inspiring — and very different — organisations rely on the kindness and generosity of people like you to keep going.
