Julie & Dave’s Run for Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity-Cancer Services Fund

Dave and I are running the Manchester Half Marathon on 31st May 2026 in aid of Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity - Cancer Services Fund. 

Mid Cheshire Hospitals Cancer Services fund is used to pay for services, equipment, improvements to the environment & additional comforts which improve the care and experience of local people living with a cancer diagnosis.  They need at least £25,000 every year to continue providing this support.

The charity helps in providing several things, including what is listed below.

Paxman Scalp Cooling Caps
Chemotherapy Recliner Chairs
Hypnotherapy Service
Counselling

A very good friend of ours received treatment on this unit and made the choice to use a scalp cooling cap whilst having her treatment.  The cooling cap worked and she kept her hair throughout her treatment.  At this moment in time the unit only has two of these caps.

This has given us the motivation to go out and run the half marathon (my first!), and raise as much as we can to support this worthwhile charity in continuing to provide this amazing service.
