Jump for Teach Sri Lanka

I did it!

I am incredibly excited to announce that I decided to throw myself out of a plane for Teach Sri Lanka charity who promotes and enables the education of all Sri Lankan children.

According to UN, even before COVID-19, the world was not on track to meet reading and mathematics targets. In 2019, only 59 per cent of children of grade three age were proficient in reading. The pandemic is projected to cause an additional 101 million children to fall below the minimum reading proficiency threshold, increasing the total number of students falling behind to 584 million in 2020. This wipes out the progress achieved in education over the past 20 years.

Sri Lanka is a country which has been devastated by civil war. The war ended in 2009 but the impact is still felt by many with many Sri Lankans still affected by poverty, famine, disease and homelessness.
I have recently learned more about Teach Sri Lanka and was honoured to meet the team who founded Teach in 2012 with the sole purpose to promote and enable the education of ALL Sri Lankan children regardless of their gender, creed, socio economic background or any other bias.

My goal is to raise £300, however I will be happy for everyone supporting a good cause by not only donating, but also sharing awareness about this fantastic team, their story and remarkable achievements.
