Cracovia Marathon Fundraiser

On the 22/04/2012 I will be running the Cracovia Marathon in Poland to help raise money for the charity MAC-UK. The marathon is only a part of the bigger challenge which I will be undertaking and for which I have to be super-fit. I will be climbing couple of highest active volcanoes in the world in Ecuador in mid August. However on this stage, please support me in my first ever marathon!

A little bit about MAC-UK. They are also known as Music and Change and were set up in response to the shocking statistic that 1 in 3 young offenders have an unmet mental health need at the time of their offence.

MAC-UK successfully engages with some of the UK's most deprived young people who are most in need of support but least likely to access it. The unique MAC-UK model takes mental health into their territories and on their terms to promote positive mental health through innovative youth lead projects and one to one Street Therapy work.

To continue to offer such services to young people, MAC-UK is reliant upon the generous donations of supporters. Just £5 can pay for a young persons bus fare to a housing appointment, enabling street therapy on route. £40 will pay for a young person who has never worked before to have a day of experience supported by a clinical psychologist. £100 covers the cost for a clinical psychologist to work with a young person for one day.

It is my hope to raise funds that will allow MAC-UK to continue offering such essential services to deprived young people.
