Katy Walters is raising money for Wherry Yacht Charter Trust

My story

On 28th June 2009 I did the Cowman half-Ironman triathlon at Milton Keynes, raising money for Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust. Follow my training and see a full race report at katystriblog.blogspot.com/

This year WYCCT has a huge fundraising target of £100,000! This is for a new boatshed and facilities, and ongoing restoration of three of the last eight remaining Norfolk wherries. Once restored, they will be used for environmental education and sustainable public enjoyment of the beautiful Broads landscape. It would be a tragedy if this part of our heritage were to disappear - please sponsor me to ensure it doesn't! You can also come and find out more about the boats and even sail on one as part of our 2009 tour:
wherryyachtcharter.org/news.html

UPDATE 3/7/09: I completed the race in 7:00:32, overcoming fog, blazing heat and a few annoying bike problems. Massive thanks to everyone who sponsored me or pledged, you are all wonderful people and it really kept me going through the tough stuff :) Offline sponsorship raised £285 - thank you EVERYONE for every donation no matter how large or small.

(If you're a UK taxpayer, Everyclick makes sure that at least 25% in Gift Aid is added to your donation. And unlike JustGiving, they don't charge charities a monthly fee for being able to collect sponsorship online.)

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Wherry Yacht Charter Trust.
