Kayak across France

According to NHS blood and transplant, 5000 pints of blood are required every day to save and improve the lives of people who require blood transfusions. That's over 1.8 million pints of blood a year. From cancer patients and children’s hospitals to roadside emergencies, the demand is high.

Unfortunately, due to this high volume there are often cases where hospitals/ambulances are not equipped with enough blood to save a life when the time is required.

The National association of blood bikes (NABB) Is a charity funded operation across the UK that transports blood from one location to an emergency site to ensure that a life can be saved.

In 2020, 4500 volunteers transported over 160,000 pints of emergency blood and supplies to save lives. As of 2020, these bikes are now seen as official emergency vehicles.

Not only will your donation aid in the saving of lives, but it will also aid in relieving the NHS of costs associated with the delivery themselves. An estimated £1.5million per year.

Elliot Roach and myself will be Kayaking between 330-400km through France from Argentat through to either Bordeaux or the sea (dependent on progress).
