My story
100 Miles: Castle to Castle for Mountain Rescue
I’m taking on the biggest challenge of my life: a 100-mile race from Bamburgh Castle to Edinburgh Castle. To say I’m nervous is an understatement, but I am doing this for two causes that are incredibly close to my heart and that I have been involved with for over 25 years: Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England and the Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team.
These teams rely entirely on the dedication of volunteers who drop everything to help others in their darkest hours. Having been part of this community for so long, I know first-hand how vital every donation is for their life-saving work and the dogs that make it possible.
I wouldn't be at the start line without the support of Billy McLaren. Billy has been more than just a guide through the gruelling months of training; he’s become a great friend and will be right there by my side during the event to help me reach the finish.
