Climbing Kilimanjaro for Pennyhooks

Event date: 13th February 2014

Jo Elliott is raising money for Pennyhooks Farm Trust

My story

UPDATE Very happy to announce that we both safely made it to the summit. We had an amazing time, it was challenging and rewarding in equal measure. Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far - we are very proud to have smashed our original target

On the 13th Feb 2014, my brother and I are off on an exciting adventure to Tanzania, in an attempt to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro, the worlds tallest freestanding mountain, and Africa's highest peak at 5895m. We will be trekking for 7 days on the Lemosho route, and should (if all the training pays off) summit on the 20th Feb.

In doing so, I hope to raise some money for a wonderful local charity, The Pennyhooks Farm Trust, which provides an opportunity for young people on the Autistic Spectrum to develop skills on a working farm. As many of you know, this is a cause which is close to my heart, and I have had the pleasure of spending time working with students and young adults at the farm during my time in Oxfordshire, and can say first hand what a positive effect the farm can have on young people and their families.
All donations would be greatly appreciated and support the wonderful work at Pennyhooks. Thanks for your support!
Jo
