Kirsty Bramwell is raising money for Skcin and Melanoma Focus

My story

Hi,
I'm Kirsty and I'm a melanoma surviver. I had melanoma in 2010, which was a mole on my forehead, this was removed with surgery and had a skin graft which ensured I healed the best I could.
Unfortunately in August 2020, I was diagnosed again with melanoma. This time I was at stage 3B, the melanoma was in my salivary gland. After surgery, and removing 18 lymph nodes from my face anx neck, I was given the news I was NED (no evidence of disease). Since surgery, I've gone through treatment which was Target Therapy, this is a mixture of two different chemo drugs which were taken daily for a year.
The treatment did affect my health, mainly tiredness, fatigue, nausea and an annoying rash. But with early nights, less activity and medication I was able to get through the year. Christmas Eve 2021 was my last day on treatment which was a nice Christmas present to actually eat at any time on Christmas day 😁
Since coming off treatment, I feel more like me again which is the best feeling ever.

I will be doing 100 miles in May with my husband Dave, to help give back to research and awareness of melanoma. Giving people the chance to learn and new treatments to help save many lives.

I did it last year while on treatment, which I regretted a few days in but I'm proud to say I made it! I'm hoping this time it will be easier for me.

Wish me and Dave luck xx
