Kristina Leroux-Harvey is raising money for Ark Cancer Charity

50 years young...for Ark Cancer Charity

Event dates: 1st March 2013 – 1st September 2013

My story

As many of you know, I have recently become involved with this charity, and in fact am now working in their offices three days per week. As promised at the time of my 50th, here is more information and the opportunity to give...or even to make your own fundraising page.

The Hampshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have announced plans to build our own, local Cancer Treatment Centre to serve Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke and over to Hartley Wintney which will save patients the lengthy, uncomfortable and far from hassle-free trips to Southampton or Guildford for treatment. The medical team behind this "visionary" project have researched how to provide the best and most comforting environment for cancer sufferers combined with the latest in technologies and drug treatment. Studies have shown that cancer patients respond very positively to an holistic approach which we hope to put into practise in the new centre.

This is a very exciting project aiming to raise an initial £5 million to provide grants to allow for the overall project to be delivered to a higher specification above the £13 million provided by the Trust. As the centre is being built, the charity will make further grants to start the provision of the alternative therapy areas and it will continually support the organic growth of the centre when required at each development level.

You can get involved and donate in many ways. Firstly, through this page, do give!

You can also create your own page for your personal fundraising activities, by following the instructions using this link:

You can also give directly through to the charity via the everyclick website if you feel more comfortable doing that, which is the more confidential option.

As an extra, ongoing way to donate, there is no reason why everybody shouldn't sign up for Give as You Live. It's a scheme to encourage CORPORATE giving through your own internet shopping activities. Check out how many retailers are signed up for this scheme: Amazon, John Lewis, Boots and many more. They give a percentage of your shopping to your chosen charity, at no cost to you. Brilliant idea. We hope you might chose Ark Cancer Charity as your first charity, of course!

In any of the cases, do feel free to donate can always send me a personal email separately!

If you just want to pop a cheque in the post, payable to Ark Cancer Charity, send it to me, and I'll deal with it.

I'm also assembling a team of local Ambassadors throughout the above mentioned catchment area to help with various community events. We are doing this in addition to seeking large private and trust donations, applying for various appropriate grants from other charities and organisations, and will soon be looking into approaching the local corporate market.

I am really excited about this project as its need is so great. We have all been touched by cancer in some way?. Do visit the site (in early stages of construction) to learn more:

Thank you so much for supporting this cause and I look forward to hearing from you! Kristina xx

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Ark Cancer Charity.
