Laura’s 30th Birthday Skydive

On the 2nd January 2017, my Son Thomas was born 3 months premature at 27 weeks gestation. After his 12 day stay on the Neonatal unit at Musgrove Hospital, we we transferred to the RD&E Neonatal unit where we could be closer to home. Thomas spent a further 11 weeks on the unit where he received the most amazing care and support until he was big enough and strong enough to eventually come home.

As his lungs were so small and underdeveloped he needed oxygen support to breath and was fed via a tube. He required multiple blood transfusions as well as other procedures due to infections.

This was by far the scariest time of mine and James life and we can not thank the Neonatal team enough for all they did. Our Neonatal journey was made more bearable with the support from SNUG.

So for my 30th Birthday, instead of presents and a party, I am doing a 15,000ft skydive to raise as much money as possible so other families like us can receive the care and support they need.
