Sponsored walk across London for High Trees Community Trust

Barclays colleagues in London are talking part in a sponsored walk on Wednesday 19th July 2017 to raise money for High Trees Community Development Trust.

Based in Tulse Hill (Lambeth) in South London, the Trust is an established community anchor and hub.

Registered as a charity in 1998 they have now been delivering projects and services to local people for 18 years.

Adopting a holistic approach to community development, all the work they do is delivered in a collaborative manner; working with other local and national partners to enhance service delivery and avoid duplication of work.

It is worth knowing that their work is not local authority funded but just supported by people like us.

Their work is vital for some of Tulse Hill's most vulnerable people and they are guided by the needs of the local community to deliver and support a range of projects grouped into three interlinked areas:

1 - Employment, Education & Training Support: Community Learning and accredited training courses, employment support, volunteering opportunities and work placement schemes.

2 - Children, Young People & Family Services: Working on the basis of early intervention, delivering youth clubs and forums, adventure play, wellbeing projects, self development programmes, mentoring and youth leadership.

3 - Community Engagement & development: Nurturing and capacity building individuals and community groups to empower them to take local action and develop advocacy skills.
