Let's get moving!

I’m sure most of you that follow the Thompson Pet Transport page will know that their faithful van, Stella Blue, suffered a terminal engine failure in Italy last week. What you may not know is that Thompsons have always had rescue animals at the forefront, being rescuers themselves, and they charge around half the price per animal than most other commercial transporters; to give more animals the chance to leave Greece for a forever home in the UK. Thompsons have been our transport partner for many years and have transported the vast majority of the CARAT dogs and cats brought for rehoming in the UK; and as anyone that’s used them will know, the care and professionalism shown are second to none. The truth is that non-profit organisations like CARAT cannot afford the prices charged by other transporters and our own rehoming program will be forced to end without a reliable, trustworthy and affordable transporter.
It’s precisely because Thompsons offer the lowest prices they can that they are now in the position that they don’t have the capital they need to buy a new van and therefore have no option but to stop transporting. This would not only be a tragedy for them, but also for all of the charities that wholly rely on them to bring our animals to the UK for adoption. Losing Thompsons will have a huge impact on charities and organisations working to relieve the suffering of animals throughout Greece and will deprive literally hundreds, if not thousands, of animals from ever having the chance of a family of their own, as well as preventing Linda and Julie from continuing their own rescue work.
So here we are, begging for help to get the girls back on the road. If you can spare anything, even the cost of a cup of coffee, then every penny will be so gratefully accepted. If you have a Greek animal that Thompsons transported, please give them a big kiss and help more animals just like them get the chance of a loving home and family of their own.
