I’ve already been fortunate enough to complete five previous London Marathons, all to support the Lord’s Taverners (or “TAVS”).

WHY DO IT AGAIN?

It’s a pretty easy answer, for YOU and for THEM. “YOU” are reading this, so you are family/a friend/colleague/extension of one of those or all three and YOU may have donated in the past (maybe many times!) or YOU may be about to donate now for the first time… and I’m running for YOU, for your money, it’s the fuel.

“THEM” are the TAVS. I have supported them on every step of every mile of every London Marathon I have ran (plus a few sideshows) and in the doing, raised some £15,000+.
I’m running to help them help others, children that maybe disabled, disadvantaged or otherwise to get involved in sport, and all the good that brings. Please take a short moment (once you have paid up!) to have a a look into what this amazing charity does. There is something sensationally special about what the TAVS do in my view and that is the joy brought to those watching on… the parents, siblings, grandparents, friends or carers of these children that otherwise mightn’t have been there, getting involved, being competitive and having fun. Support the TAVS.

This year, for me personally, brings more meaning to this cause than ever. The last time I ran up the Mall my wife, Kim, was in the grandstand carrying our unborn son and this time, I’ll cross the line as a father of two boys and on the very same day it will be the wedding anniversary of my Mum & Dad.
